NORTHEASTERN BOBCATS ATHLETICS
The boys (7-0) won the Division I championship. The girls (4-3) finished third. Only a freshman, Sophia Hunter earned gold medals in the girls 200-yard & 500-yard freestyles at the YAIAA championships. It marked the first time in school history the Bobcats had a female win two YAIAA championships. Fellow frosh Whiskie Brandt won a pair of bronze medals, placing third in 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. The ladies 200 free relay took bronze. Frosh Claire Schaeberle was fifth in the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. Aaliyah Zimmerman was fifth in the 100 butterfly and seventh in the 100 free.
The boys opened the championships by earning a silver medal in the 200 medley relay and the 400 free relay notched a bronze. Seniors Drew Foster silver in two events, (100 & 200 free). Barron Bishop won silver in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 200 IM. Freshman Cole Prince won bronze in the 500 free. Grady Welsh was fourth in the 100 free and sixth in the 200 IM. Caeden Foster won two medals, bronze in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free. Elkanah Flemister took sixth in the breaststroke and eighth in the butterfly. Austin Turner placed eighth in the 500 free.
